Hair loss becomes noticeable when the rate of shedding exceeds the rate of regrowth or when your regrowth is finer. It’s not uncommon, but it can be upsetting and can take an emotional toll on women. For most of us, hair is a very important part of our identity and for women, our sense of femininity.

It’s normal to lose hair. We can lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day, often without noticing.

Alopecia is the medical term for excessive hair loss. There aremany reasons as to why this can happen, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, age, stress, for genetic reasons, autoimmune disorders and sometimes poor nutrition.

Suitable for medical related hair loss

95% of hair loss is caused by androgenetic alopecia which is genetic. This often causes thinning for women.

Less common forms of alopecia include alopecia areata which is an autoimmune disorder. This results in hair loss ranging from small patches to complete hair loss and can also be temporary or permanent.
